Cinco de Mayo Food and Drink Specials - Young & Hungry

Cinco de Mayo is this weekend, which means it's time to squeeze some limes and salt your wrists. To help you navigate the flow of tequila and margaritas, here's where you'll find food and drink specials throughout the city:

Impala Cantina Y Taqueria

1358 H St. NE

This H Street NE establishment hasn't officially opened yet, but that hasn't stopped it from throwing a Cinco de Mayo party of its own. The cantina is doing a pig roast complete with $5 cervezas and $7 margaritas on its outdoor patio. Groove to live performances by "tropicaliente" D.C. band Empresarios. Party starts at 6 p.m. on May 5.

Fuego Cocina y Tequileria

2800 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington

The Clarendon restaurant will offer $5 margaritas, specialty drinks made with its collection of more than 120 tequilas, pi?ata giveaways, and Mexican street food from chef Alfredo Solis, who was born and raised in Mexico City.

Surfside

2444 Wisconsin Ave. NW

Surfside is serving up $19 buckets of Mexican beers and $5 cocktails from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. (Who needs bottomless mimosas when cervezas go so well with brunch?) Also, buy a taco entree and get a free large salsa and chips with?a coupon now until Monday.

Casa Oaxaca

2106 18th St. NW

Get $5 house margaritas and $4 Coronas from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Cinco de Mayo.

Capitol City Brewing

4001 Campbell Ave., Arlington and 1100 New York Ave. NW

Capitol City is pulling out two $5 beer cocktails from Friday through Sunday: a traditional michelada as well as El Ayudacal, a blend of beer and margarita served in a salted-rim glass.

California Tortilla

All locations

Cal Tor is making Cinco de Mayo a little interesting with a virtual pinata smash on its website: Swing at the pinata for a chance to win prizes like catering for 20. The promotion lasts from now ?through Sunday. At its physical locations, the chain will offer a coupon for a free taco redeemable between May 6 and 15.

Ceiba

701 14th St. NW

Quaff $5 margaritas and $5 street food items, including chicken tamales, cinnamon dusted churros, "Mexican hot dogs," and more from 3 p.m. to close,?Friday through Sunday.

Radius Pizza

3155 Mount Pleasant St. NW

The Mount Pleasant eatery will serve $4 strawberry basil margaritas from Friday to Sunday. They also have a rad-sounding Mexican pizza.

Zengo

781 7th St. NW

Zengo is serving up food specials, as well as $5 margaritas and $5 Latin beers from 10 p.m. to close tonight, tomorrow night, and after 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Masa 14

1825 14th St. NW

Enjoy four flavors of $5 margaritas on Masa 14's 64-seat rooftop from 3 p.m. to close on Cinco de Mayo.

El Centro D.F.

1819 14th St. NW

El Centro will offer $5 margaritas in five flavors (including spicy mango) from 3 p.m. to close on Cinco de Mayo.

Rosa Mexicano

Penn Quarter and Chevy Chase locations

Rosa Mexicano is offering brunch beginning at noon with items like fried eggs and carnitas hash, cinnamon cascabel chili-stuffed French toast, and a Mexican Cobb salad. Booze up with the restaurant's Pasion Picante pitchers and Mezcal Bloody Marias.

Sixth Engine

438 Massachusetts Ave. NW

Today through Sunday, you'll find watermelon cilantro margaritas, Coronitas with a shot of Milagro Silver (garnished with lime juice, chili, and a salt-infused watermelon cube), plus $4 salted Tecate cans with lime. The kitchen will also offer homemade tortilla chips with a trio of dips (tomatillo salsa, tomato salsa, and grilled avocado guacamole).

H Street Country Club

1335 H St. NE

Beginning Saturday at 11 a.m., the restaurant will host human cockfights (read more here) with gift certificates going to the top winners. There will also by $2 Dos Equis, $5 margaritas, and $2 tacos during happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m.
