Manchester United sets IPO terms

(Reuters) - English soccer team Manchester United set the terms for its U.S. initial public offering on Monday saying it will offer 16.67 million shares at between $16 and $20 each, which values the club at $3.3 billion at the top of the range.

Manchester United has been struggling with a hefty debt burden ever since being acquired by the family of Florida-based businessman Malcolm Glazer and his family in 2005.

The club and the Glazers each will be selling half the IPO shares in an offering that will raise as much as $333 million. The club's proceeds from the IPO will be used to reduce its debt. The Glazers will remain in a dominant position after the offering with 89.8 percent of the Combined class A and B shares.

The IPO may be a tough sell in the United States given the lack of U.S. publicly traded sports teams to compare Manchester United against and given that many Americans don't regard soccer as a top sport.

The company's latest financials may also give investors pause. Revenue for the fiscal year 2012 is expected to 315 million pounds to 320 million pounds ($495 million to $503 million), down 3 to 5 percent from the previous year, the company said in its S-1.

Operating expenses also increased 4 to 5 percent as a result of a jump in player and staff compensation.

Shares are highly priced based on earnings of a range of 21 million to 23 million pounds in the year just ended. This makes the price to earnings ratio based on both A and B shares at a very steep 95 times.

"It could be challenging to justify such strong multiples for a company that needs to spend a lot of money to generate success," Ken Perkins, an analyst with Morningstar said. "Even if their performance is good their price may be a bit high."

The details of the sale were announced just as it was revealed that the club had signed a 7-year sponsorship deal with General Motors Co to have the Chevrolet brand on their shirts starting in 2014. The deal is worth roughly $600 million, Reuters reported.

The club had filed to raise up to $100 million in its IPO of Class A stock earlier this month.

Manchester's United will kick off a two-week investor roadshow on Wednesday, with stops expected in the United States, Europe and Asia, according to a source familiar with the company's plans who was not authorized to speak publicly about them.

The roadshow stops will be done concurrently, with two separate management teams covering different geographies. One will be responsible for meeting with investors in the United States and the other with investors in Europe and Asia. Pricing is expected on August 9.

The team chose to list in the United States after scrapping listings in Singapore and Hong Kong. It had originally looked to raise as much as $1 billion in Singapore.

"I'm a little concerned that the offering couldn't be done initially and now all of a sudden it has a heartbeat," said David Menlow, president of IPO Financial which tracks IPOs. "The mentality with sports teams is that people like owning a piece as a trophy investment, but will it live up to expectations?"

The Glazers also own the U.S. football team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They will retain control after the sale because their Class B shares will have 10 times the voting power of average investors' Class A shares.

Jefferies Group Inc is the lead book runner in the syndicate, which also includes Credit Suisse, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank. The company will list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker "MANU."

Morgan Stanley bowed out of bringing the deal to market when Manchester United decided to list in the United States.

Brewers Dismiss Bulllpen Coach Kyles

MILWAUKEE ? The Milwaukee Brewers today relieved bullpen coach Stan Kyles of his duties. Lee Tunnell will replace Kyles on an interim basis and report to the team tomorrow. The announcement was made by Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Melvin.

?It is important that we make every effort to try to improve our bullpen performance,? said Melvin. ?While Stan is not solely responsible, I felt that this change was the first step and was necessary. Stan has been a loyal member of the Milwaukee Brewers organization for 11 years. His hard work and dedication has been an integral part of the Brewers? success and is greatly appreciated. His professionalism, personality and knowledge will be missed.?

Tunnell, in his fourth season in the organization, had been Minor League Pitching Coordinator. Prior to that role, he spent three seasons with the Cincinnati Reds as interim bullpen coach (2006) and pro scout (2007-08). He also coached in the Rangers organization for nine seasons (1997-2005).

Brewers relievers have gone 15-26 with a 4.80 ERA this season. The bullpen has recorded the most losses and blown saves (20) in the Major Leagues and ranks 28th in ERA and 29th in opponent batting average (.274).

Kyles had served as bullpen coach for the Brewers since the 2009 season.

Apple steigt bei Twitter ein?

Soll strategische Investition abw?gen

At end of rocky Europe tour, Romney visits Poland

Mitt Romney hopes to capitalize on Polish disappointment with the Obama administration, after cancellation of missile shield plans in 2009. Will he capture the Polish-American vote?

By Michael Steininger,?Correspondent / July 30, 2012

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney (R) meets with former Polish President Lech Walesa in Gdansk, Poland, July 30.

The last leg of Mitt Romney?s foreign trip has taken him to Poland today, one of America?s strongest allies in Europe. The Republican presidential candidate will try to capitalize on tensions caused by what Mr. Romney called the ?abandonment of friends? by the Obama administration after its cancellation of missile shield plans in 2009. ?

Romney has more to gain from his visit to Poland after his London debacle.

?Photo ops,? says Konstanty Gebert, a Warsaw-based Eastern Europe analyst at the European Council on Foreign Relations, are an easy win. ?A picture with Walesa, who is seen by many in America as the face of liberty, will do Romney no harm. Neither will a picture of him at the monument for the uprising in the Jewish ghetto [in Warsaw].?

Not even a slip of tongue would be much of a problem. ?No gaffe here would have the resonance his London gaffe had,? says Mr. Gebert. ?Warsaw is a safe place for Romney.?

But others warn that his Cold War-style in addressing international politics might not be welcomed by Poles.

Romney surprised many Americans and foreign observers by calling Russia ?America?s number one geopolitical foe? in a CNN interview in March. His rather undiplomatic choice of words has been received with unease in Warsaw despite the historically close relationship between Poland and the US.

?Given the difficult situation between Russia and Poland, I think this remark was not exactly helpful,? says Marcin Zaborowski, director of the Polish Institute of International Affairs in Warsaw, Poland. His remark?indicates how volatile a recent improvement in the Polish-Russian relations, marred by decades of animosities, still is.?

Historical ties

After the end of the Cold War, Poland, along with other former Soviet satellite states in Eastern Europe, was keen to join Western alliances like NATO and the Organization for Economic Cooperation Development against the wish of Russia. Poland has proved to be a loyal supporter of America?s foreign agenda, sending troops to the Gulf War, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and playing a part in the CIA?s extraordinary rendition program.?

Islington Pest Control Company Advice 5 Ways to Make Your Home ...

Bed bug infestations are very common in the UK. Bed bugs don't only affect the quality of your sleep but can also cause severe itching that can lead to secondary infection--which is why making your home bug-free is of utmost importance most especially if you have young kids. Babies have very sensitive skin and a single bug bite can cause inflammation that can lead to more serious skin problems.

Here are six basic techniques that any N1 pest control expert would suggest to you to keep your home bug-free:

1.First, know how to spot these bugs. By appearance, a newly hatched bed bug would look semi-transparent and is of the size of a poppy seed. Meanwhile, adult bed bugs would look flat and about the size of an apple seed. From a light tan hue, these bugs would turn into rusty red when they're already full-grown.

Since they feed mainly on human blood, expect to see them in mattress seams and tufts, sheets, pillow cases and several upholstered furniture. Baseboards of walls as well as crevices in furniture are their favorite spots.

2.Sealing wall cracks and crevices using caulk is a great way to prevent such pests from coming into your home.

3.Another technique is to kill the these pests with a change in temperature. They weaken and eventually die if continuously exposed to extremely low or high temperatures. To expose them to high temperatures, use steam vapor when cleaning all fabrics and walls in your home. If you don't have access to steam cleaning, using hairdryers and irons on mattresses and any other possible bug hotspots is also widely used. Just make sure that you expose the bugs to sudden temperature changes so that they will not have the opportunity to scatter and hide in other places.

4.Vacuuming and washing all beddings, fabrics and clothes are also effective in removing these pests. 5.If bed bugs are still there even after you've done all the tips above, then it's time to shift to another method of extermination. You can stir up a simple mixture composed of tea tree oil and water in a spray bottle and then lightly mist the places where you suspect these pests to be present.

If you must revert to pesticides, choose the ones that are least toxic and have been created specifically for bed bugs. Professional exterminators should be able to give you sound pieces of advice on the best products to use. Also, use pesticides sparingly because no matter how "safe" they are marketed to be, they will still contain chemicals that could affect your or your family's health.

If you are living in Islington and you have serious bed bug problems you cannot solve on your own, you can seek help from Islington pest control experts. Learn more about how to eliminate bed bugs and other pests thriving in your home through various effective N1 pest controltechnologies by visiting our website.

Canon LV-7292M

The Canon LV-7292M is an LCD-based projector that provides decent data and good video image quality for a small business, and is fairly portable as well. It has a relatively low price, and low brightness for its class. It's a reasonable choice, though it brings nothing that makes it stand apart from similar machines.

The LV-7292M has native XGA resolution (1,024 by 768 pixels), a 4:3 aspect ratio suitable for most business presentations. It has a rated brightness of 2,200 lumens, low by today's standards where most similar projectors have a brightness of around 3,000 lumens. Its 500:1 contrast ratio is unusually low, which may explain one quirk that I discuss in the section on data image quality.

The silver and dark gray LV-7292M measures 3.9 by 13.0 by 9.6 inches, and weighs 6.5 pounds, so it's reasonably portable, although it lacks a carrying case. Behind the lens are the (reasonably responsive) focus wheel, and a zoom wheel with a 1.2x zoom.

The LV-7292M has a modest selection of ports for a portable projector: a VGA port (which triples as a component video and S-video input); 3 RCA jacks for composite audio/video; HDMI, RS232; audio-out, and a microphone jack.

Testing

I tested the LV-7292M at about 8 feet away from our 6-feet-diagonal test screen, at which distance the projector's image filled the screen. The image was fine when the room was in darkness; it was still quite usable though a little weak when ambient light was added.

The LV-7292M's data image quality is suitable for typical business uses, though you might not want to use it in situations that demand exacting color. Text was readable down to the smallest sizes. I did notice some tinting; white backgrounds sometimes appeared with a slight yellow tinge, and some grays looked a bit greenish. Also, I noticed some yellow or blue fringing where bright and dark areas meet. The tinting was reduced somewhat by switching from Standard Mode to Presentation Mode; it was even less of an issue when I changed from a VGA to an HDMI connection. However, switching to HDMI notably reduced the projector's ability to distinguish between very dark, similar shades, and between very light shades as well. (Perhaps this was due to the projector's low contrast ratio.)

Video quality was reasonably good for a data projector, suitable for showing short to mid-length clips as part of a presentation. As an LCD-based projector, the LV-7292M is immune from the rainbow effect?little red-green-blue rainbow-like artifacts that appear with moving images or when one moves one's head?that is a frequent problem with DLP projectors, particularly with video.

As is not unusual with a portable projector in its class, the 1-watt built-in speaker provides rather feeble audio, useful only in a small room or when one is very close to the projector; you may want to use external speakers with it.

The Canon LV-7292's data and video image quality is suitable for typical business needs. This low-priced projector gets the job done, though it brings nothing special to the table. Canon sees it for general use in small or home offices, and it's certainly adequate for that role.

At 2,200 rated lumens, it is of modest brightness compared with its peers. Even the Editors' Choice Epson PowerLite 93+, at 2,600 rated lumens, is of lower brightness than most mainstream XGA projectors, but it provides high-quality data images, good video quality, and a good sound system at a low price. The NEC Display Solutions NP-V300X is brighter at 3,000 lumens and provides great data image quality, but it's a bit more expensive, and as a DLP projector its video quality is impacted by the rainbow effect.

Colorado suspect's field of study was rarefied and rigorous

AURORA, Colo. ? James Holmes inhabited an academic world so wondrous it could unlock the chemical code to human behavior, so complex that few outside the nation's brilliant cloister of neuroscientists could begin to comprehend it.

The graduate neuroscience program at the University of Colorado-Denver's Anschutz Medical Campus ranks among the top third of graduate programs in neuroscience ? the study of the brain, its 100 billion nerve cells, and the connections among those cells that control thought and action.

"If I go to a bar and somebody asks me what I do, all I say is research," said David Cantu, who got his doctorate from the program. "If I'd tell people I was specializing in mitochondrial reactive oxygen species and how it pertains to cell deaths ? people's eyes would start to glaze over."

PHOTOS: Colorado movie theater shooting

It's the same program that Holmes, suspected of killing 12 patrons and injuring 58 at a movie theater last week, recently dropped after his first year.

Interviews with top directors of the university's graduate program, and others outside the school, provide a glimpse into the lives of those who choose such a rigorous course of study. The Colorado program has been largely shuttered to public view since Holmes' arrest July 20, a month after he announced plans to abandon his graduate studies there.

The interviews on that campus were conducted on the basis that Holmes not be discussed, but what emerges is a vivid portrait of the intense world in which the 24-year-old student lived over the last year.

In this rarefied and often high-pressure environment, students who are already near the best of their game are asked to exponentially expand their capabilities, frequently under stiff competition, and often in isolation.

**

The $126-million-a-year neuroscience program, which includes a new Center for NeuroScience, in recent years has developed the basis for drugs for the treatment of Down syndrome and Alzheimer's disease and discovered that eating disorders such as bulimia can trigger alterations in the brain's reward circuits. It has also revealed that the brains of mice can be profoundly affected by the kind of cages in which they're kept, raising questions about some of the most fundamental experiments in biological science.

Housed in gleaming new research buildings on the Aurora campus, the program is one of dozens that have multiplied across the country over the last 20 years as researchers have begun to develop the modern tools needed to scrutinize and measure the inner workings of the brain.

"A lot of the effort prior to 1970 was just trying to define, to map the nervous system?. But once a lot of that was defined, it required all these other disciplines to come into the community of neuroscience to take the next step," said Barry Shur, dean of the University of Colorado-Denver's graduate school.

Just 35 students are enrolled in the doctoral training segment, an intense, five-to-six-year journey through the dense frontiers of neuroanatomy, cell biology, genetics and pharmacology. First-year students are plunged into fundamental course work accompanied by a trio of lab rotations designed to help them select an area of research.

"The transition from the student to the researcher is the whole goal," said Diego Restrepo, co-director of the neuroscience center. "The student has to demonstrate the independence, the curiosity, the creativity to ask questions that can be translated into an experiment that will produce data that will ? give you an answer to your question."

Students are closely monitored but, at Denver and at most top schools, quickly begin to take ownership of their own progress. "We're taking really, really smart students who have a pretty good idea of what they want to do and making sure they have the tools to start out, and then we set them loose," said John Ngai, director of the graduate program in neuroscience at UC Berkeley.

The pace rapidly becomes robust and the competition severe, as students jockey for the best-funded labs, aim to have their work published in scientific journals and spend long, sometimes exhausting hours in the lab endlessly repeating and redesigning experiments.

"I think my first student got away with a 40-hour week, though most students spend significantly more than that, probably 50 or 60. And some of them much more," said Louis F. Reichardt, neuroscience program director at UC San Francisco.

"There are experiments where you have to have data points every half hour, and when that happens, you put a cot in the lab and you check it all through the night ? I've done that," said Shur. "What we expect is the students to be self-motivated, passionate, and not have to be told to go into the laboratory."

The work can be isolating drudgery. Graduate students' lab hours are often spent alone in tiny, sterile rooms ? rats and mice their only companions ? before the students go home to study. Some students spend years breeding rodents to develop needed models to study memory conditions; others take days to recover information using electrophysiology from the brain of a single rat after an experiment.

"There's a lot of time when you're just alone, [and] it's very easy to get lost in those periods of isolation," said Shawn E. Nielsen, a fourth-year doctoral student at UC Irvine whose interest in neuroscience began when her then-13-year-old sister began suffering epileptic seizures and associated memory losses.

Easy Video Marketing Tips for Your Internet Business

Home
? Internet Marketing ? Easy Video Marketing Tips for Your Internet Business

Have you considered using videos to market your products/services? If not, now?s the time! Video marketing is up and coming, so you better use it to your advantage before it loses its appeal. Given below are some simple tips to help you on the way.

You want to create a video because you want to work with it to get traffic to your website. However, in order to get visitors to your site, you have to do more than just make a video and post it online. You have to have a strong call to action during most of the video and especially by its conclusion. Many new video marketers don?t focus on this and start wondering why they aren?t getting any response from the videos. Your call to action needs to be aggressive and dynamic. It must paint an exact picture for the reader of what should be done. You can?t leave the reader in total confusion about the next step, you have to explain to them what needs to be done. For example, a few people want the readers to put feedback at the end of the video and others want them to come to the actual website. The kind of call to action doesn?t matter as much as how you actually do it. So remember that your call to action will be able to tell you how successful your video will bring sales from your traffic. Don?t forget to properly edit your video. This is one thing that many marketers overlook because they think that they have done everything that needs to be done. But you should make video correction and ensure that everything is okay. First of all, you?ll want to delete any unnecessary parts so that the video is crisp and short. Secondly, you?ll want to reinstate your call to action in the credits of video, so that no part of the video goes to waste. You don?t want to miss any chances that you may have to bring up the call to action. Aside from that, you have to be positive that you created a quality video just like you wanted it to be. Don?t worry about finding a good editing tool, as almost all computers have it by default.

The common mispractice of not looking directing at the camera, is something to avoid. When you?re shooting, you?re talking to your viewers as if it?s face to face.

Give the video a one-on-one feel. Creating a momentary personal bond with the viewer is a key. If the viewer is more comfortable, the trust level increases. Do not make the viewer feel out of place by looking elsewhere during the shoot, it is inadvisable.

In conclusion, you can use video marketing to your advantage in many kinds of ways, but it is how you do this that is more important than what you actually do.

Frankie & Benny's Blackpool - blog*spot

When I was offered a ?50 voucher to try out a Frankie & Benny's restaurant and their food, I jumped at the chance. I knew me and Si were going to Blackpool at the beginning of July and I knew they had a restaurant there, so I thought this would be the perfect chance to use it, whilst we are away enjoying ourselves anyway :-). I have never been to a Frankie & Benny's restaurant, but knew that it was American themed. I have been to Planet Hollywood before, which is the same kind of theme and thought it was great there, so I was excited to see what this restaurant and their food was like.?You can find out a bit more about the history of Frankie and Benny's, on their?website. I think it's always interesting with big chain restaurants to find out a bit more about their background and how they began.

Before I begin, I think it's important to let you know that a voucher was sent to me through the post. So a table wasn't booked by the company that sent me the voucher, the restaurant didn't know I was coming at all, let alone what day or time. I always feel totally comfortable when I am carrying out restaurant reviews this way. I have turned down companies who wanted me to review a restaurant/pub food in the past because they said they would have to book me in so that the restaurant/pub knew I was coming and that I didn't have to pay. I don't feel comfortable doing this as obviously they know I am coming and it is more than likely that the PR company or the company that has booked me in has said that I don't have to pay and am carrying out a review. If I did a review like this, I wouldn't know whether the people serving me were genuine in their customer service or just putting it on because they know I am doing a review, let alone if they had made the food perfect just for the purpose of my review etc and they obviously don't want a bad one.

Frankie and Benny's in Blackpool is a little bit behind the main promenade and isn't immediately visible whilst walking, so I would suggest finding out where it is before you set off. We used a map on our phones to find out where it was and then after getting a tram to the central pier, we walked there. It took us about 15 minutes to actually walk there because we weren't initially sure where it was, so we ended up walking down side streets etc (where the map was directing us) and then when we came out, we saw the promenade/sea straight ahead, so we just walked straight up and it took us less time, probably about 5-10 minutes. It is located in Festival Park, which also has a cinema, a spa and car parking facilities. You can view a?map?on their website, to find out how to get there yourself :-).

The restaurant is open from 9am every morning for breakfast and closes at 11pm every night, apart from Sunday when it closes at 10:30pm. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was the American memorabilia on the walls and the fact that most of the seats were comfy booths, so that people could feel like they have their own privacy. It looked clean and welcoming and within our first few steps into the restaurant we were greeted by the manager, who clearly saw there were two of us and asked if we wanted a table for two. We of course said yes and a waiter came over to her and asked if she wanted him to direct us to our table. She agreed and so he greeted us and asked how we were and if we had ever been there before. We hadn't, so we told him this. He took us over to a table for two (the booths were big enough for families, so prob too big for us, although I'm sure if we would have asked to sit in a booth, he would have let us), which we were perfectly happy with. He asked if the table was ok and we said yes. There were no other people around us, so we felt comfortable sitting there. As we hadn't been there before, he showed us the menu's and the special menu's and asked if we wanted any garlic bread/dough balls to start us off. We weren't too sure at first what to go for as we had literally just sat down, but we both like garlic bread so we went for that. He also asked us if we wanted any drinks, but I said can we have a few mins to look at the cocktail menu, in which he replied of course and that he would be back with us soon to take our drink orders. The waiter was very happy, chirpy and it felt like it wasn't a chore for him to serve us and make us feel welcome.

We had a look at the cocktail menu and there was a lot to choose from, the prices were average. We are used to seeing cocktails priced around ?4-5 (which these were), but noticed you could get some cocktail pitchers for ?11.45, which is a great price, considering what we are used to. The waiter gave us enough time to have a proper look at the menu (about 5-10 mins), so when he came to take our order we went for a Mai Tai (which we remember drinking in LA when we went in 2010), we never seem to find them when we are out drinking where we live, so it was nice to see it on a menu. We ended up having two pitchers of this throughout the night ha...well we were there to enjoy ourselves! It was so tasty and reminded us of LA so much, so it definitely bought back some memories. Our garlic bread came before our pitcher (it was with us in about 10 mins from when we were first asked if we wanted it) and it was bought to us by a waitress (who then remained with us throughout the night), Alex her name was. So, I don't know what happened to our waiter, he was probably told to swap areas or something, but it wasn't a big deal. Anyway, we told her we had ordered a pitcher aswell, reminded her what it was and she said she would go and see how it was getting on. It then arrived with us about 5 mins later. The garlic bread was delicious. We are used to having garlic bread on ciabatta in restaurants/pubs at home, this one was like a pizza, on a thin crispy base, with loads of flavour! It was a little bit greasy, but definitely full of flavour.

After Alex could see that we had finished our garlic bread, she came and asked us if we had decided what to order. We were looking at the main menu/specials menu whilst we were eating our garlic bread, so we were deciding, but we asked for a few more minutes because there was so much on the menu and I didn't know what I fancied to be honest, so I was being awkward and taking a while lol, but not on purpose...I promise! Ha. I must say that again Alex was happy and chirpy and made us feel welcome and not a bother at all. After she had asked us twice if we were ready to order (which we weren't lol), the third time was lucky and we had finally decided. We decided to go for the specials menu and choose two courses for ?10.95, which we thought was a really good price! You could also top up to three courses for an extra ?2.25, but we weren't sure if we wanted dessert yet, so we left it at two courses. There are only a number of things on the specials menu though and if you're feeling picky and not sure what you fancy, there might not be enough choice on there for you. It took me a while to decide what I wanted! So, I went for the Southern Blue Mushroom to start with and the New Yorker Pasta for my main. Si went for the Buffalo Chicken Wings to start and the Double Pepperoni Pizza for his main. I'd say our starters were with us in about 20 mins and when we had finished our plates were collected almost immediately and she said she would give our main meals the go ahead. It then took about 10-15 mins for those to come. Overall, we didn't have to wait long for our food at all, but it was enough time to let our previous food go down, allow us to relax and chat some more. We never felt like they were rushing to get our food out to get us out of the restaurant and our food was always delivered nicely presented (apologies for some of the half-eaten food pictures, we couldn't resist the food and sometimes forgot to take a pic straight away, oops!) and hot!

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? My Starter. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Si's Starter.

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? My Main. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Si's Main.

My mushrooms were to die for! This is one of my favourite starters, wherever I go to eat. It might not be the exact same thing, but I love mushrooms with cheese...so yummy! The balsamic glaze added a bit of sweetness to the dish aswell, so the savoury-ness of the cheese with the sweetness of the balsamic was a perfect match. Si enjoyed his Buffalo Chicken Wings. They came tossed in a Louisiana hot sauce, which Si said wasn't too hot (but he does have a palette for hot/spicy foods), so something I think is hot, he wouldn't think is. He asked for the wings to come with sweet chilli sauce, instead of the blue cheese dip and they changed that for him no problem. My main was ok and nice at the time but I don't think I'd have it again if I were to go there. That's nothing against the dish itself or anything they did to make me not like it, I think it's just to do with my palette/preferences etc. I mean I love chicken breast, pasta and cheese sauce, but I think this dish had other ingredients that I didn't think would be so prominent in the dish. The chilli that was tossed with the pasta and cheese sauce for example was actually jalapeno chillies and the sauce had a pepper taste to it (it was described like this on the menu), which I thought was going to be like bell peppers cut up into the sauce, but it wasn't, so the taste was a little hot and peppery for my liking. However, the chillies were easy to pick out as were the pasta and chicken (to eat with less sauce on them). Si really enjoyed his pizza, he said it was very New York style, loaded with flavour and whilst he said it was a little greasy, he enjoyed this aspect of the pizza.

After we had finished our mains, our dishes were taken from us within 5-10 mins of us finishing. We then started looking at the dessert menu, as we both decided we wanted something fresh and light. So, Alex could see we were looking at the dessert menu and after about 10 mins of us looking at it, she came over to see if we wanted anything. We both went for lighter option sorbets (I went for Lemon, whilst Si went for Mango), which were two scoops of our chosen sorbet, with a sprig of mint on top. At this point we also ordered another Mai Tai pitcher :-). We waited about 10 mins for our sorbet and 15 mins for our pitcher. Considering our sorbets were lighter options (which to me means smaller portions), they still came in tall glasses and looked full.

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Lemon Sorbet and Mango Sorbet.

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? (Apologies about the half eaten desserts :-/).

They were really refreshing though and cleansed our palettes. The thing with sorbet is that once I start eating it, I could just keep eating it lol sooo nice! My lemon one wasn't too bitter, which was good. Si said his was a little bit sickly after a while, so I let him have some of mine, cause I'm nice like that he, he.

After we had finished our desserts, again our glasses were taken from us within about 5 mins and we were asked if we would like anything else. At this point we were ok, we were just going to chill for a bit and finish our second Mai Tai :-). We took a bit of time to look around the restaurant whilst we were relaxing and noticed that the place was full of mainly couples like me and Si or families with kids. When we first arrived there weren't many people there, it was a weekday (10th July...ignore the date on the camera, it's set wrong) and about 5pm, so most people were probably finishing work etc. By this time, the restaurant was pretty full and there were a lot of birthdays in. Every so often, the waiters/waitresses would take a lit cake over to a table where it was someones birthday, sing Happy Birthday (whilst clapping), some people in the restaurant would also join in and then Congratulations by Cliff Richard would come on. This happened a few times within the night, but it's always nice to see people out celebrating their special occasions. Throughout our meal, 1950's classic songs were played and even though we were born in the 80's, we still found ourselves?having a little sing to ourselves/bopping along to the tunes haha. It wasn't depressing, boring music, it was quite uplifting and not so loud, so we could still hear ourselves talk. We also noticed a waitress going around with balloons for the kids, so this is something that probably happens in all F&B's, or if not, I'm sure they can be asked for :-). The table, chairs, menu's, glasses, cutlery etc were nice and clean and the table wasn't sticky. They had a nice American style bar area, with all the spirits stacked up at the back and bar stools, so you could just go in and have a drink if you wanted to. I personally didn't go to the toilet whilst we were there, but Si did and he said the men's toilets had chequered walls and floors and were nice and clean (surprising for a men's toilet). I also noticed aswell, whilst I was waiting for Si to come back from the toilet, just before we were about to leave that there was a little taxi intercom thing where you could call a taxi for free.

After we had finished our Mai Tai, we got Alex's attention and asked for the bill. Another thing to add is that we didn't have to show our voucher when we first arrived, so just another little disclaimer to say that they didn't know we were there to do a review/had a voucher...sometimes these things need to be said lol. She bought it over to us and originally it came to ?60.35. This could be considered pricey for one meal and had we not had the voucher, we prob would have thought it a little expensive. However, we did have a 3 course meal and two cocktail pitchers. So, there was always room to make it cheaper if we wanted to and had we not had the voucher we prob would have had a main and dessert each and just one pitcher. We gave Alex our voucher and she said she would just go and take it off the bill and bring another one back with what we had to pay. Si noticed she went and asked the manager about something with our voucher, but it was probably how to put it into the till or balance our items out minus the ?50. Anyway, Alex came back after a few mins and gave us our new bill which was ?10.35. She said in a chirpy, happy manner that it was a cheap one for us tonight (due to the voucher) and we had a laugh about it, when she asked if I had won it, I said no I had been sent it to review the restaurant/food/service etc she said 'ooh, that's good, you'll have to get some of these more often'. I just felt so good knowing that her service/manner was 100% true and honest. We gave her the money for our bill and left her a ?3 tip. We like leaving tips if we feel we have been treated well whilst out for food, if our food was nice, service was good etc and it all was, so we felt she deserved it :-).

This is definitely a restaurant that I would go back to again. We don't have one in our town, but we have one not far from us. I think it's a nice place to go for someones birthday as the atmosphere is lovely, there is a LARGE selection of food and drink (I forgot to mention they do of course sell soft drinks and beers/ciders and wines), especially if you want to have a few cocktails to celebrate! The service, cleanliness and waiting times could be different in all Frankie and Benny's restaurants, but I do know that in this one, we had nothing to complain about :-).

Sometimes with restaurant reviews it can be easy to forget to mention something, so if there is anything you would like to know about the restaurant we went to, feel free to ask. In terms of basic info, you can find out a lot on the?website. If you want to find your nearest Frankie and Benny's, you can do?here?and all?menu's?are available to download online, so you can have a look before you go :-).

Have you ever been to a Frankie and Benny's restaurant? What did you think?

Thanks so much for reading my post...don't forget to like, comment and follow my blog for more posts :-).

Disclaimer: As stated above, I received a ?50 voucher (to use at any Frankie and Benny's restaurant), to consider doing a review of the above restaurant and their food. I can't guarantee that every Frankie and Benny's restaurant will be the same as what I have described above. The restaurant weren't aware that I was coming and so this review isn't biased at all. My opinions are 100% honest as always.

Laminate Wood Floors: The Future of Floor Tiles Now

Yet, the ugly smear on your authentic wood floor covering has defied all traditional cleansing methods. In addition, your frustration is growing by the minute as various other signs of deterioration have been clear the longer you eye your floor. As if that's not enough, dreadful scratch marks from home furniture movements have made a moonscape of your sitting room flooring.

If these and other flaws are the highlights of your flooring, then you have to be thinking why you previously selected "authentic" floor covering materials. Well, if you can reminisce, it was most likely your concern or disapproval of seemingly "faux" laminated flooring products that provoked you to do so. Unfortunately, laminated floorings really have more edge than their genuine counterparts. Below are a several reasons you should think of utilizing laminate floors:

Easy set up

As many residents would vouch for, laminate floorings are exceptionally straightforward to set up. Modern laminate flooring systems employ a click-lock design that makes setting up almost simple; in a click-lock design, flooring pieces are affixed not by means of adhesives but via interlocking grooves and tongues in each floor piece. This enables professionals to lay laminate flooring pieces into a 300-square-foot spot in as short as a single weekend.

Easy maintenance. Laminate floorings are even incredibly resistant to scratching and denting. Unlike hardwood floorings, they do not require sprucing up, and virtually stain-resistant. If a laminate floor gets smeared, it could be quickly cleaned by water and a moderate detergent. Wood floorings, on the other hand, have pores which tend to absorb blemish, which makes it tough to eliminate through typical washing procedures.

Sturdiness. Besides resistance to damages, laminate flooring is likewise remarkably resilient. Thanks to the melamine applied in bonding the floor's exterior, laminate floorings are close to indestructible. Melamine is the same highly tough plastic polish that covers institutional dishware such as hospice trays and bowls; additionally, because of the melamine wear-layer, the laminate floorings won't fade or blemish.

Great Range. One of the best things about laminate wood flooring is that they come in various shades, shapes, and patterns. Laminate floorings can mirror the appearance of the most sensational hardwood. And yet, the former remains lots of times extra resilient than authentic wood products. As such, you'll have far more choices here than in real wood floor surfaces.

If you really mean to go cheap, laminate floors are your front runner, as they're considerably less expensive than firm hardwood floorings. You may get one that suites your inclinations on every hardwood floor store in your location. Learn more about laminate floorings at wisegeek.com and articlesezinedaily.com.

and partner Jeff Sutton have announced
the restructuring and recapitalization of their joint venture at 717
Fifth Avenue. In these transactions, SL Green has sold 50% of its
interest to Sutton and retains a 10.92% stake in the venture?s retail
condominium property at a price that values the asset at $618 million,
or $5,015 per square foot. This valuation reflects a 4.9% capitalization
rate on in-place net operating income.

In addition, the venture has received $590 million of new financing in
the form of a $300 million fixed-rate mortgage loan and a $290 million
mezzanine loan. The mortgage loan, originated by New York Life and TIAA,

SL Green received $85 million in net cash proceeds from the transactions.

SL Green acquired its interest in the property in 2006 at a price which
valued the property at $230 million. During six years of ownership, net
operating income was increased by approximately 2.5 times via the

SL Green President, Andrew Mathias, commented, ?Our joint venture
investment with Jeff Sutton at 717 Fifth Avenue has been a resounding

creative repositioning and leasing over the past six years. The result
is a sizable gain in asset value, as recognized by our lenders, as well
as our ability to monetize a portion of our position and generate
substantial cash proceeds.?

Located in the heart of Manhattan?s Plaza District, 717 Fifth Avenue is
well positioned along New York City?s most desirable stretch of luxury
retail properties. The retail condominium totals 123,000 square feet on

(AP) ? Some of the victims fighting for their lives after being wounded in the movie-theater shooting rampage may face another challenge when they get out of the hospital: enormous medical bills without the benefit of health insurance.

Members of the public, along with Warner Bros., the studio that released the Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises," have contributed nearly $2 million to help victims, though it's not clear how much of that will cover medical expenses. One family is raising money on its own online.

And three of the five hospitals that treated victims said Wednesday they will limit or completely wipe out medical bills.

Some of the victims, however, still face a long recovery ahead and the associated medical costs ? without health insurance. There's no exact count of how many of them don't have insurance but statistics suggest many of them might not be covered.

Nearly one in three Coloradans, or about 1.5 million, either have no health insurance or have coverage that is inadequate, according to a 2011 report by The Colorado Trust, a health care advocacy group.

The highest uninsured rate was among adults between 18 and 34 and many of those injured in the shootings are in that age group.

State officials said they are not sure whether any of the victims qualify for emergency Medicaid assistance available to needy patients. Victims could also get financial assistance from a state program that helps people hurt during crimes, including lost wages and counseling.

Among the uninsured victims of the movie-theater attack is a 23-year-old aspiring comic, Caleb Medley, who is in critical condition with a head wound and whose wife, Katie, gave birth to their first child, Hugo, on Tuesday.

His family and friends said they have set a goal of raising $500,000 to cover his hospital bills and other expenses and were over halfway there on Wednesday.

"All the money that is donated is going straight to Caleb, Katie and Hugo to help them with medical bills, getting back on their feet, help with the baby items," friend Michael West said. "Anything and everything that they need."

Children's Hospital Colorado announced it would use donations and its charity care fund to cover the medical expenses of the uninsured. For those who do have insurance, the hospital says it will waive all co-pays.

"We are committed to supporting these families as they heal," according to a statement from the hospital, which treated six shooting victims.

HealthOne, which owns the Medical Center of Aurora and Swedish Medical Center, also says it will limit or eliminate charges based on the individual circumstances of the patients. Those hospitals have treated 22 shooting victims. However, the company cautioned its policy may not apply to all doctors working in its hospitals.

The other two hospitals, Denver Health Medical Center and University of Colorado Hospital, where Medley is, wouldn't directly say whether they would assist shooting victims. However, they are the state's top two safety net hospitals and provided combined $750 million in free care in 2011.

Hospitals are required by federal law to stabilize patients during emergencies without regard to their ability to pay.

"The issue most probably facing the hospitals and patients in a situation like Aurora is what comes after 'stabilization,'" said Dr. Howard Brody, director of the Institute for the Medical Humanities at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and a frequent critic of excessive medical costs.

"Many of these people I assume will need prolonged and expensive rehabilitation after their immediate injuries are dealt with, and that seems precisely what hospitals today are less and less willing to cover out of their own funds, and no law requires that they do so, as far as I am aware," he said.

Medley is in a medically induced coma, but West said he has been showing signs of improvement, relying less on a ventilator to breathe. Medley's wife, 21-year-old Katie Medley, gave birth on Tuesday, one floor above his room at University of Colorado Hospital.

Standup comedian Gabriel Iglesias, who has appeared on Comedy Central, planned to headline a Denver fundraiser for Medley next week.

The fundraising might actually make Medley ineligible for some income-related assistance. His family and all other victims are already meeting with victim advocates, the case workers who deal with people hurt during crimes. The advocates determine what services they need and what assistance they qualify for.

"We have individuals who will need a lifetime of care, or a lifetime of accommodation, and our job is to make sure those needs are met," said Karla Maraccini, deputy director for community partnerships in the office of Gov. John Hickenlooper.
