David Obernosterer eases into Men?s Singles second round at Canada Open 2013 ? Badminton news
Austria?s David Obernosterer, who recently has been playing good badminton, found a superb start as he easily outplayed his local challenger, Benjamin Leung, in Men?s Singles first round of Yonex Canada Open 2013 on Wednesday, July 17, in Canada.
The lofty Obernosterer, who has been working hard to get elevated skills, showed his superiority in the arena in this opening round battle. He was in smashing form and took just 18 minutes to show exit to Benjamin.
Austrian man was in no mood to prolong the rallies at any stage throughout the match. He was in full command of the affairs on court and easily bagged a tremendous straight-set victory by winding up the contest with a spectacular 21-7 and 21-4 score on the board.
On the contrary, Benjamin was shocked with the aggressive and flawless play of his Austrian challenger. He had nothing to stop the aggression of his opponent and eventually gave up fighting and lost the match in a lopsided manner.
Both shuttlers started playing attacking badminton from the starting rallies but it was Obernosterer who took over the control and set up an early lead in the first set.
The positive and aggressive play of Obernosterer enabled him to keep his local opponent moving around in the arena. He employed incredible variations in his shots and established a comfortable gap on the board until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, the Benjamin showed a bit of aggression but could not create any considerable difference as his rival stayed on the driving seat all the way.
Meanwhile, Obernosterer continued his impressive performance without facing any trouble and won the first game with a one-sided 21-7 total on the score board.
The following set was shocking for the local shuttler as Obernosterer maintained the pace of rallies at the highest level and easily took a stunning lead until the one-minute interval.
In the ending half, the Austrian continued his focused and dominating run on court. He placed his shots quite superbly in all areas and clinched the second game with a mindboggling 21-4 score on the board.
