Hollywood stuntman, stunt coordinator and film director David Ellis died of unknown causes this week in South Africa. According to reports, the 60-year-old passed away Monday in Johannesburg where he was working on the action film ?Kite.? He was found in his hotel room. Foul play is not suspected.

"Nothing was found to be missing from his room and no foul play is being suspected at this stage," police spokesman Lt Col Lungelo Dlamini said. ?The US Embassy has been informed and are believed to be making necessary arrangements for the body to be taken to his own country."

Ellis began his entertainment career in the 70s with small role in ?The Strongest Man.? He soon moved on to performing and coordinating stunts for films. Ellis worked on movies like ?Smokey and the Bandit,? ?Leathal Weapon,? ?Rocky III? and ?Fatal Attraction? and ?Scarface.? Ellis? directorial debut came in 1996 with ?Homeward Bound 2: Lost in San Francisco.?
