Family fun activities ? Family time of any kind can be fun with a little thought and you?ll benefit from just sharing in things that each of you enjoy. Having fun can take some work when everyone?s heads are elsewhere and life is taking charge but bonding is very important and fun will grow you closer.
So, fun and bonding activities are very important and below you?ll find the ideas from our post Best Family Bonding Activities.
First of all these are just suggestions, you will have to find what works for you and your family. ?In fact in your household some of them might even be the worst family bonding activities. What truly matters is that you are trying to find ways to strengthen your family. Some of these suggestions are old, some are new, and some may seem like wild concepts, but if they work they just may be what pull your family together.
1. ?Playing Wii
This is a new medium but old idea. Family game night around my house is playing wii and not board games. ?My family doesn?t enjoy the good old fashion board game like I did when I was a kid. ?Pick up sticks was my favorite game to play with my mom, but my son only wants to play Just Dance or Mario Brothers. ?We can debate the value of board games and video games all day long. But I know when I am playing Wii with my wife and son we are going to be laughing a bit, talking a little trash, and just having a great time. ?It is also an opportunity for my son to show off his personality a little. ?I don?t get mad if he gets a little sarcastic during the game, because I get to see what his sportsmanship is like when he wins and loses. It helps you see how their personality is developing while you are having fun and bringing your family together.
2. Eating Dinner
There is absolutely nothing new about this idea. ?I?believe?it truly is the best family bonding activity ever, and it has been proven time and time again that it is a postive reinforcement in childhood development. ?Win, win. Sitting down every night with no TV, no radio, no phones, and just talking about one another?s days and each person in your family is feeling. ?There is no better way to get close to somebody than to listen to what they have to say. ?A family dinner happens daily and might be the best exercise in bonding ever.
3. Texting
You children don?t want to talk to you. It happens to everyone at some point I am told. My son is only 6 so I am not there yet. But texting can be a great way for your family to communicate through tough times. ?Having a conversation is hard, it can be embarrassing and humiliating especially if you don?t understand something. But the anonymity of texting not seeing that person face to face can make it easier for some people to talk about issues they might not otherwise talk about. ?Part of creating a solid bond with your family is finding the best way to communicate. ?Try texting.
4. Time Away
Absence makes the heart grow fonder. ?Sometimes you do need a break to realize how much you love someone.
5. Tell Jokes
I love telling jokes. ?It really let?s us come out of our shells and push the limits of our relationship. ?You ever tell a sarcastic joke to your dad and have him look like he was going to slap the living daylights out of you? ?Well if you spend some time telling jokes with your family you are going to learn more about their personalities that you can imagine. ?You will find out what the find funny, what they don?t, and ultimately what offends them. ?And who doesn?t love a good joke from a 6 year old?
Knock Knock?
Whose there?
Why did the cow cross the road?
That is not a knock knock joke?
Insert laughter here.
It truly is as simple as that, every family has it?s own dynamic and relationship issues. ?And every family will find the best way to bring themselves closer together, so there really isn?t a set guide to finding the best family bonding activities. However the ones list above work really well for me and my family so I suggest giving them a try.
