MYRTLE BEACH -- The National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C. issued a tornado watch for Horry and Georgetown counties just before 8:30 p.m.
The watch does not expire until 2 a.m.
The advisory is related to a storm system headed towards the Grand Strand.
Already, the system spawned tornados in Alabama and Georgia. It is expected to bring strong winds between 20 mph and 30 mph with gusts reaching 45 mph.
